E Kūkulu i ka Lāhui Building a Thriving Lāhui
Guided by the vision of Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole and the foundational principles of the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act, everything we build is rooted in aloha ʻāina, kuleana, and mālama — because housing is more than shelter. It is a path home.

The work we're building
Three landmark projects represent the breadth of Kalanianaʻole's mission — from homesteads on the land, to a studio that tells our story, to a commercial gateway that builds economic power for the lāhui.
Laʻi ʻŌpua Village 4 Hema
North Kona, Hawaiʻi Island
125 single-family homesteads on DHHL Trust Lands — 2BR–4BR plans with covered lānai, built for Native Hawaiian families ready to put down roots.
Queen Liliʻuokalani Studios
The first Native Hawaiian–owned film studio on Hawaiian homelands. A place where our people create, train, and tell our stories for the world stage.
Prince Kūhiō Gateway
A 225,000 SF retail and commercial center in ʻEwa Beach — shops, dining, and everyday services for one of Oʻahu's fastest-growing communities, with affordable kūpuna housing, profits flowing to DHHL, and all 22.7 acres gifted back to the Hawaiian Homes Trust at no cost when the lease ends.
